Offered for sale is this part-built 2″ scale Showman’s Road Locomotive to the popular ‘Princess’ design from H. R. Plastow.
It is offered for sale as photographed giving the prospective buyer the opportunity to continue the built. Many of the parts are nicely built however some require further attention. As with any engine, and certainly a project, we encourage prospective buyers to visit our premises to see the extent of the works required.
Key Features:
- The copper boiler looks to be generally sound. It is unsteamed however (aside from a selection of drawings) no historical paperwork is included, as common with this type of engine.
- A double crank compound cylinder arrangement with a slide valves actuated by a Stephenson’s linkages. Fitted with three speeds.
- Work so far has been conducted to a reasonable standard throughout. We don’t believe this example has ever been steamed and is being built up for the first time.
- The majority of the major parts look to be present with the notable exception of the roof timber and dynamo. We have not made a inventory for this engine however all parts included are photographed so anything missing will not be included.
Overall, a great start to a project with plenty of potential!
