Offered for sale is a nicely finished example of the less common, and impressive looking, 4″ scale Garrett to the respected Newcombe design. Built in around 2011 using a commercially made boiler from AJB Engineering, it looks to have done very little work so is in a good position mechanically, cosmetically and in the boiler.
Key Features:
- Steel boiler commercially made by AJB Engineering. Included in this sale is a fresh, commercial boiler inspection to bring boiler testing up to date for the buyer.
- Two-speed, single cylinder arrangement. Slide valve actuated by Stephenson’s linkage.
- Mechanical water pump and injector fitted for filling the boiler when in steam, as standard.
- ‘Foster’ mechanical lubricator and pressure release valves.
- Mechanically, the engine has been built to a high standard. It has been maintained nicely and looks to have done very little work since completion. The motionwork is good and well presented.
- Cosmetically, it is painted in an appealing green with subtle black lining. The style suits the engine and results in this being one of the smarter of this design we have seen over the years.
- It is fitted with rubber tyres, ideal for hard ground and tarmac. It includes a single seat.
Overall, a nicely presented miniature which has been built and maintained to a high standard.
