Offered for sale is a nicely finished example of the popular single crank compound Burrell – as originally supplied as castings by Live Steam Models. The single crank compound gives owners the chance to operate an engine which is a little elevated above the standard single cylinder without running a fully-fledged compound road locomotive!
Key Features:
- Steel boiler commercially made by AJB Engineering. The current boiler report is commercial (by our usual inspector) and is valid until May 2025. The 10-yearly hydraulic was last conducted in July 2018. This means, aside from a quick check over, this engine is ready for immediate handover!
- Two-speed, single crank compound cylinder arrangement. Slide valve actuated by Stephenson’s linkage.
- Mechanical water pump and injector fitted for filling the boiler when in steam, as standard.
- ‘Foster’ mechanical lubricator, steam whistle and locomotive type pressure release valves. It is also fitted with dummy governors.
- Mechanically, the engine has been built to a high standard. It has been maintained nicely and so is considering ready to enjoy!
- Cosmetically, it is painted in a light green with lining in red and yellow. It looks smart and stands well.
- It is fitted with rubber tyres and is registered for use on the road.
Overall, a nicely presented miniature which has been built and maintained to a high standard.
The sale includes a smart, small water cart and a double seat – as per photos!
