A remarkable interpretation of the popular John Rex Model Engineering Foden Lorry, in this instance fitted with a light set and working, 12v dynamo turning the steam wagon into the ultimate Showman’s support vehicle! Fitted with a new set of tubes in recent years; the boiler was commercially made in 2007. It has spent a good few years in Ireland and is now offered for sale at our premises near Exeter, Devon.
Key Features:
- The welded steel boiler was made by respected boiler makers, John Rex Model Engineering, in 2007. It includes full documentation and we would be happy to include a new commercial boiler inspection if requested – feel free to speak to us about this one. The boiler itself is sound.
- A twin-cylinder (non-compound), 3-speed arrangement with slide valves actuated by Stephenson’s linkages.
- Mechanical water pump and steam injector fitted for filling the boiler when in steam, as standard. Also fitted with a hand pump.
- Twin mechanical lubricators, and locomotive-type pressure release valves.
- Built to a good standard throughout. It has been maintained well but is showing its age a little offering some room for improvement but it is generally smart and nicely presented.
- The paint is good and in keeping with the design and style. It is a little scruffy but cleans up nicely and looks the part.
- The wheels are on pneumatic tyres which means it goes well! Having been out of the country, the V5C is not currently live however it will be supplied with a NOVA which will allow the buyer to reregister if they wish.
- Includes a half-day tuition session, if requested by the buyer.
Overall, a unique engine and the only one of which we have seen in our showroom!
