Offered for sale is a pleasant and honest 3″ scale Burrell built to the ever-popular drawings by HR Plastow. Built in c. 2005 using a commercially made boiler from Glouctershire Steam & Traction Co., it it registered for road use and has a handful of owners over the past 15-20 years.
Key Features:
- Welded Steel Boiler commercially made by Gloucestershire Steam & Traction Co. It was hydraulically tested (usually classed as a 10-yearly) in 2021 by our usual inspector who noted the boiler is ‘in clean condition for age’ with a good set of thicknesses. Included in this sale is a fresh internal and supplementary steam test to bring boiler testing up to date for the buyer.
- Two-speed, single cylinder arrangement. Slide valve actuated by Stephenson’s linkage.
- Mechanical water pump and injector fitted for filling the boiler when in steam, as standard.
- Mechanical ‘Foster’ lubricator, steam whistle and locomotive type pressure release valves. It is also fitted with dummy governors.
- Mechanically, the engine has been built to good standard. It stands well and looks smart. It has been maintained nicely meaning it runs as it should with no obvious play or bearing issues to note. Generally honest and nicely presented.
- Cosmetically, it is painted in traditional livery with the pin-striping setting it off nicely. It makes for a nice show engine.
- The wheels are fitted with original style metal strakes and it is registered for road use with a V5C.
Overall, a great, entry-level miniature which will come inclusive of our standard warranty and fresh boiler testing.
