Miniature Road Steam

A smart example of a 1:10 scale ‘Markie’ Special Scenic Showman’s Road Locomotive. These engines have proved to be fairly popular with collectors’ over the years looking for a small scale, manageable engines larger than the toy engines (such as Mamod or Wilesco products).

This one is fitted with a copper boiler and converted to be fired with a gas burner fueled from the included ‘water cart’. It is a single cylinder with a slide valve and is two-speed.

In recent years, we believe this one has been laid up as a display engine however fundamentally, there is nothing to stop it from working! In fact, closer inspection suggests it has hardly ever been steamed, if it has at all. It is accompanied by the original documentation from the maker.

Overall, a smart little engine which is great either as a static display or as something to commission into steam!

We consider this a small-scale miniature so wouldn’t typically include boiler testing or our usual warranty within the price however would be happy to check it over prior to dispatch. This does not affect your statutory rights as a buyer.
