Offered for sale from our premises near Exeter, this 7NHP portable engine offers the buyer a great opportunity to restore it to a good-sized portable steam engine.

Initial, informal assessments of the boiler suggest, aside from the removed front tube plate and tubes, it is in fairly good condition and a good basis for a restoration. As always, we encourage buyers who are uncertain to employ the services of a boiler inspector to check it independently if required.

Points to note:

• This is a single flywheel engine – a previous owner has sourced a flywheel to replace the damaged/repaired flywheel and strapped it to the crankshaft for safe keeping.
• It appears to have been subject to some damage to the crank at some point in its life. We assume the buyer would need to source a replacement crankshaft.
• The only part included, in addition to the photographs, is the chimney base. Any other parts not present in the photos are presumed missing and therefore not included.
