Offered for sale on behalf of the owner is a fairly useable example of the popular MGB Roadster. Registered new in 1970, originally Glacier White with a 1970-style grille), the detailed history file accompanying the car suggested it has had a good life residing with a few owners in the 55 years since manufacture. It was last restored in the period from c. 2009 to 2011, including changing the colour to the current ‘teal blue’ (it was sprayed midnight blue in 2000).

The current owner has owned LVL 585J since 2015. Now being MOT (and tax!) exempt, the last MOT expired in 2016. It is a typical MGB with the 1798cc petrol 4-cylinder engine. It is looking a little scruffy around the edges but presents as an attractive classic which would benefit from a tidy up. The MGB is considered a very affordable, fun way of enjoying classic car ownership! Whilst the majority of the car is relatively good; due to some points of corrosion showing underneath, we are selling this on behalf of the owner as a running project classic which the buyer should expect to need to work on prior to use on the road. The paint has some damage but cleans nicely. There is some damage on the bonnet. As with any project classic, our overview is to be used as guidance only and the buyer is strongly advised to view the car personally to assess any works required.

Works over the years includes a new cylinder head suitable for unleaded petrol, a later style grille and more. That restoration in around 2011 included a new clutch, as well as restoration of the rusting bodywork and everything needed to make it worthy of an MOT. There is reason to believe the odometer stuck occasionally around 1997 so is not to be relied upon, as with many historical vehicles. We do, however, have an interesting overview, written in around 2011 of the known history including a trace of mileage through the MOTs. It is a remarkably well documented MG with an extensive folder!

Overall, an appealing MGB and available for viewings, on behalf of the owner, at our premises near Exeter, Devon.
